Enrollment and Registration

Welcome to the Chavez School District—a prestigious school district located in Washington state!Welcome to our schools. Below will be provided all the information needed to begin enrolling your child in our schools. These steps are suggested to be followed in order and read prior to visiting the school for enrollment and registration.

Register At Your Boundary School

Chavez STEM Academy owns and serves the community with three schools including an elementary, middle, and high school. We serve communities in Washington state as an alternative to a traditional public school district system. We invite you to learn more about Chavez STEM Academy and our schools.

To begin the process of enrolling, we invite you to visit our schools by your student's grade.

Documents Needed for Registration

The following will be necessary for students to be eligible to enroll:

  • Identification - Students attempting to enroll at the minimum kindergarten level must be five (5) years old on or before September 1. As of August 2019, students born after the deadline date will be eligible to attend school for kindergarten the school year after. When planning to visit the school, please bring a document verifying the student's name and age. This may be a hospital certificate, birth certificate, adoption record, affidavit from parent, passport, previous verified school records, or any other documents permitted by law verifying the name and age of student attempting to enroll.
  • Proof of Residency - Families must provide the school's office with verification of the student's residency. This requirement is satisfied by the family providing the school's registrar with a household utility bill such as electric, water, or garbage bill. If not available, alternative options such as a rental/lease agreement, income tax return statement,  proof of ownership of home and mortgage statement, or any other official document verifying the address with the parent/guardian's name printed on the document.
  • Immunization Records - All immunization records must be current by the first day of school in order for the student to be eligible to attend classes. The district may ask for further information based on immunization records if or as necessary.

School Visit

Families should plan on visiting the school for registration at least two weeks prior to the expected first day of attendance of the student as your school's assessment department will need to schedule a day in which your student will be available to perform the required assessments in order to be eligible to attend classes in our schools, as well as an additional week for review and result of the assessments. These steps must occur before the first day of attendance of the student to allow for a decision to be made whether the student has been accepted or denied attendance in the district, as well as classroom placement. The district reserves the right to deny an enrollment/registration request based on the student's performance in the assessments.

The district reviews and scores the assessments in the following criteria:

 Score Result
 4 Exemplary
 3 Accomplished
 2 Developing
